General Peter Olubanjo Aro (RTD)

General Peter Olubanjo Aro (RTD) is a distinguished professional with an extensive thirty-five-year career in the Nigerian Army. He has excelled in numerous roles, including Troop Commander, Signal Officer ECOMOG Signal Brigade in Liberia, Director ICT at Headquarters Nigerian Army Signals, and Commander Signal Maintenance Command.

General Aro’s expertise extends beyond his military service. He holds multiple civilian qualifications, including Certified Cisco Network Professional and Microsoft Certified System Engineer. He has earned recognition for his dedication to learning, including certifications in Linux Red Heart, System Engineering from Shenzhen – China, and Data Science and Machine Learning from MIT-IDSS. His academic pursuits include a Ph.D. in Leadership and Governance from South America University.

As a key member of the American Society for Industrial Security International, General Aro is committed to advancing security excellence. Notably, he served as Chairman of the African Union Technical Committee for the establishment of C4ISR for the AU Standby Force, reflecting his leadership in security strategy at an international level.

His military contributions have been acknowledged with accolades such as the General Service Star (GSS), Commanding Officer Medal, Field Commanders Medal, and ECOMOG Medal. He was also honored with United Nations Military Assistance in Sierra Leone (UNAMSIL) Medals for his exemplary service.

Beyond his professional achievements, General Aro is an ardent sports enthusiast, enjoying football, volleyball, and web surfing. A devoted family man, he is married and a proud father of three sons and two daughters.
